Starting Therapy
Starting Therapy
To start the process of therapy, I recommend reviewing my “about me” page to learn more about my background and training. I do a free phone consultation with everyone I work with to discuss goals, do a preliminary exploration of fit, and talk briefly about my approach. Please see the “contact” page to start an inquiry and I will follow up to schedule the consult. See below for more information about the services I offer.
Individual Therapy
I provide individual therapy via telehealth (virtual/video/online) to people who are 18 years or older who are physically in the state of Oregon. I schedule therapy sessions Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8:45am - 5:15pm.
Payment
I accept two forms of payment for individual therapy.
Insurance for Individual Therapy
I am an in Network Provider with Aetna, Pacific Source Commercial and First Choice Health. When working with insurance I must provide a mental health diagnosis for treatment to be reimbursed.
If you would like to use insurance but do not have one of the above insurances we can still work together. I would bill you the full fee and then provide you a super bill. You can then submit the super bill (many times this can count towards your deductible) and you could get reimbursement although I cannot guarantee this. Prior to starting therapy you should contact your insurance company to ask about “Out of Network benefits.” Check the back of your insurance card for a member services number.
Common Out of Network questions include:
Do I have out of network benefits?
Are my benefits for teletherapy or in-person?
What is my deductible?
What are my benefits after my deductible is met?
Do I have an out of pocket maximum?
How do I submit a super bill?
Out of Pocket (Fee for Service) for Individual therapy
Patients can also pay for treatment via credit card at time of service (i.e., out of pocket). Please contact me about my hourly fee. I accept out of pocket payment via credit or debit cards only. Anyone receiving services not utilizing insurance for services, in accordance with the No Surprises Act, has a right to a Good Faith Estimate for the cost of services. Please find more information here and feel free to let me know any questions you may have.
Reduced Rate Services
I reserve a small portion of my caseload for clients facing significant financial hardship to pay for services on a negotiated reduced rate short-term (typically 3 or 6 months) for individual therapy. I also provided reduced fee slots for my interpersonal process groups. This website is updated when there is reduced-rate availability. I am not accepting new reduced rate patients for individual therapy.
Missed Appointments / Late Cancellations
As your therapist, I “reserve” a time for you based on our mutual agreement. If you miss an appointment I likely will not be able to reschedule a patient for your time if it is less than 24 hours notice. If you cancel or miss an appointment without 24 hours notice, I charge you the full rate of the cost of service for the missed or late cancellation appointment. This fee is not covered by insurance.
